hmm...

Just a thought, why does the U.S. Military Industrial Complex so conveniently choose its battles? There is injustice, conflict, and tyrrany all over the world. Yet the current territory of interest, Iraq, happens to have one of the largest oil reserves on the planet.

Anyone wants to google "US Invasions" will find several long lists. A compilation and analysis of the motives might be interesting.

There are some differences in accounting: some people do not feel that US military entry onto Indian reservations qualifies as an invasion, for example; also, there are questions about how to qualify the actions of US-paid mercenaries and actions by US intelligence forces working against explicit directions of Congress.

Another interesting project might be to compare America's view of its own invasions with the views Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, or King Ferdinand of Spain had of their own invasions and occupations. I suspect one would find that all invaders view their invasions as being for the public good.
